London to Host Major Summit on “New Horizons” for Islamic Economy in 2025

London is set to host the 4th AlBaraka Summit on 18–19 November 2025, a major global event focused on the future of Islamic economy and its expanding influence worldwide. Held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor Hotel and organised by the AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, the summit will bring together central bankers, policymakers, CEOs, industry experts, and innovators from over 30 countries. The event comes at a crucial time when ethical and values-based financial models are gaining increasing attention in both Muslim and non-Muslim markets.

This year’s theme, “New Horizons: Islamic Economy in Global Markets, Beyond Majority-Muslim Societies,” highlights the growing relevance of Islamic finance beyond traditional geographies. Discussions will explore how values-based economic principles are being incorporated into mainstream financial systems, particularly in countries seeking more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient economic frameworks. Key areas of focus will include sustainable investing, values-driven finance, regulatory challenges, opportunities in Shariah-compliant investment, and the alignment between Islamic finance and ESG objectives.

A number of high-profile speakers will deliver keynote addresses, including Lord Dominic Johnson, a member of the UK House of Lords and former Investment Minister; Vincent Keaveny CBE, former Lord Mayor of the City of London and senior advisor at DLA Piper; and H.E. Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General of the AlBaraka Forum. His Excellency Yousef Khalawi noted that many non-Muslim countries are already adopting Islamic economic principles, recognising their long-term value for investment, finance, and commercial partnerships. He emphasised that as global markets face increasing pressure to diversify and pursue purpose-driven growth, the Islamic economy is well positioned to become a foundational pillar of the future financial landscape.

With the global Islamic finance industry now surpassing $3 trillion in assets, the London summit aims to strengthen its role in international markets and build new partnerships that extend beyond traditional Muslim-majority regions. The event is expected to provide valuable insights, practical strategies, and real-world examples of Islamic finance integration in diverse economies.

The AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy, organiser of the summit, is an independent, non-profit global think tank dedicated to advancing the understanding of Islamic economy in its holistic sense. The Forum continues the legacy of its founder, Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel, whose pioneering work laid the foundation for modern developments in Islamic economic thought and industry growth.
