Meezan Bank Partners with DHA City Karachi to Expand Shariah-Compliant Housing Finance

KARACHI: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s leading Islamic bank and one of the largest financial institutions in the country, has entered into a strategic partnership with DHA City Karachi (DCK) to expand access to Shariah-compliant housing finance. The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a step forward in addressing the country’s housing needs through Islamic financial solutions.

This initiative reflects Meezan Bank’s broader commitment to supporting Pakistan’s growing demand for housing by offering Islamic financing alternatives. Under the agreement, the bank will provide its flagship home financing product to individuals seeking to purchase residential property in DHA City Karachi, using fully Shariah-compliant and Riba-free models designed to ensure ethical and transparent transactions.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both organizations. It was signed by Zia Ul Hassan, Chief Operating Officer of Meezan Bank, along with Muhammad Kashif Naeem, Administrator of DHA City Karachi, and Malik Muneer Ejaz, Executive Director of Amenities and Services at DCK.

Speaking on the occasion, Zia Ul Hassan emphasized the bank’s focus on expanding the practical application of Islamic finance within the housing sector. He stated that the partnership would enable the bank to offer tailored financing solutions within a structured residential environment while maintaining strict adherence to Shariah principles and ensuring transparency for customers.

DHA City Karachi, a master-planned residential community known for its modern infrastructure and quality housing standards, sees this partnership as an opportunity to make homeownership more accessible. Administrator Muhammad Kashif Naeem highlighted that limited access to financing remains a key challenge for many potential buyers, and this collaboration aims to reduce those barriers and support more individuals in achieving homeownership.
