AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE), a globally recognized advisory and consultancy firm in Islamic banking and finance, has entered into a Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) with FinTech Alliance PH, the leading industry association representing the fintech sector in the Philippines. The agreement was formalized in May 2026 in Taugui City, Philippines, to strengthen collaboration in the development and promotion of Islamic banking, finance, and fintech-enabled Shariah-compliant solutions across the country.
This strategic alliance aims to foster the development of Islamic financial products, enhance capacity building within the Philippine fintech and banking sectors, and support advisory services for the integration of Islamic finance into the country’s digital financial ecosystem. The partnership will focus on key areas including advisory and consultancy, education and training, and joint events, conferences, and workshops.
Through this collaboration, both organizations intend to leverage their respective expertise to introduce innovative Islamic banking products, conduct feasibility studies, provide strategic planning and Shariah advisory services, and support the regulatory and institutional framework for Islamic finance in the Philippines. The agreement also emphasizes mutual promotion, knowledge sharing, and joint efforts in organizing seminars, training programs, and high-level industry forums.
Mr. Muhammad Zubair Mughal, Chief Executive Officer of AlHuda CIBE, stated:
“We are pleased to partner with FinTech Alliance PH to introduce and scale Islamic banking services within the Philippine fintech landscape. This collaboration will help in developing sustainable, inclusive, and Shariah-compliant financial solutions, ultimately contributing to financial inclusion and economic growth in the Philippines.”
Mr. Angelito Villanueva, Founding Chairman of FinTech Alliance PH, expressed:
“This partnership marks a significant step toward expanding Islamic finance awareness and capability within the Philippine fintech community. By working closely with AlHuda CIBE, we aim to introduce innovative financial services, build strong human capital, and better serve the underserved segments of our society through Shariah-compliant digital finance.”
The agreement will initially remain effective for one year, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual consent. Either party may terminate the agreement with two months’ notice in case of violation of terms. Both parties will work independently while maintaining a strong collaborative relationship to achieve shared objectives in promoting Islamic finance globally.
