In line with the Go Cashless Economy Drive led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the State Bank of Pakistan, aik by BankIslami is launching a focused activation campaign at Creek Walk Food Street in Karachi from November 7 to 16, 2025. The initiative reinforces aik’s mission to promote Shariah-compliant banking and accelerate the adoption of secure digital payments across the country.
This campaign aims to promote the use of aik QR, a fast, secure, and fully Shariah-compliant payment solution that empowers merchants and customers to adopt a cashless and interest-free lifestyle. Throughout the activation, local merchants will gain access to seamless, convenient digital banking services that strictly adhere to Shariah principles. The initiative is designed to make digital transactions easier, safer, and more accessible for small business owners and their customers.
Speaking about the initiative, Ashfaque Ahmed, Chief Officer of aik, said, “This drive is about digitizing everyday commerce, right where local entrepreneurs serve their customers. With this QR payment feature, merchants can accept secure digital payments in seconds, while customers enjoy a Shariah-compliant and cashless experience that aligns with Pakistan’s national vision.”
To further encourage participation, aik QR payments will offer 50% cashback for aik and BankIslami customers and 30% cashback for customers of other banks on qualifying transactions, with terms and conditions applied. This incentive program aims to build trust and awareness, encouraging more users to experience the convenience of digital payments while remaining true to Shariah-compliant financial values.
The activation at Creek Walk reflects aik and BankIslami’s unwavering commitment to financial inclusion and Shariah-compliant innovation. By combining technology with ethical banking, aik continues to advance digital payment adoption while strengthening its presence within Karachi’s vibrant retail and dining community. The campaign serves as another milestone in aik’s journey to promote a modern, cashless, and interest-free economy that benefits both merchants and consumers.
