Bank Asia PLC has honoured four retiring members of its Shariah Supervisory Committee in recognition of their long-standing service and valuable contributions to the Bank’s Islamic Banking operations.
The honouring ceremony was held on 24 December 2025 at Bank Asia Tower in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, marking the 17th anniversary of Bank Asia’s Islamic Banking Services, according to a press release.
The honoured members were former Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee Mufti Shahed Rahmani, former Member Secretary Mawlana Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah, and former Faqih Members Mawlana Mohammad Mofazzal Hussain Khan and Dr. Mawlana Muhammad Ismail Hussain.
Commemorative crests and gifts were presented to the retiring members as a token of appreciation for their dedication and significant contributions over the years.
Deputy Managing Director Mr. Arequl Arefeen, along with other Deputy Managing Directors of the Bank, attended the program. The Head of Islamic Banking and other department heads were also present at the event.
In addition, Heads of Islamic Banking Windows, Branch Managers, and officials from different branches joined the program virtually.
During the program, the retiring members’ long journey, commitment, and important role in the development of Bank Asia’s Islamic Banking services were gratefully acknowledged.
