Banque Misr has partnered with Modupay to complete a direct ATM integration that allows FinTech cards

Banque Misr has partnered with Modupay to complete a direct ATM integration that allows FinTech cards sponsored by the Egyptian bank and processed through Modupay’s platform to access Banque Misr’s nationwide ATM network. The move aims to enhance access to banking services for FinTech users and strengthen the digital payments ecosystem in Egypt.

With this integration, cardholders participating in FinTech programmes backed by Banque Misr can now perform a full range of ATM transactions. These services include cash withdrawals, PIN creation and changes, balance inquiries, mini statement generation, and deposits at supported machines. The development enables FinTech-issued cards to provide the same level of ATM functionality typically available to traditional bank customers.

The direct connection between Modupay’s platform and Banque Misr’s banking infrastructure allows real-time communication between the two systems. This integration is expected to improve transaction processing speed while enhancing operational reliability and security for users of FinTech cards.

For FinTech providers operating under bank sponsorship models, access to banking infrastructure such as ATM networks plays an important role in delivering comprehensive financial services. By enabling direct integration with Banque Misr’s systems, the partnership allows FinTech programmes to expand their services and improve the usability of their cards in everyday financial activities.

According to Ahmed Nafie, CEO of Modupay, the integration ensures that FinTech cardholders can now access the same financial services and convenience traditionally offered to bank-issued card users. He added that expanding access to financial tools helps support everyday financial needs and contributes to the development of a more inclusive payments environment.

The collaboration reflects a broader trend in emerging FinTech ecosystems where partnerships between banks and payments infrastructure providers are helping expand digital financial services. As FinTech adoption continues to grow in Egypt, such initiatives are expected to support financial inclusion and strengthen the country’s rapidly evolving payments landscape.
