Syed Mohammad Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee of NRBC Bank PLC, attended the programme as the chief guest. In his speech, he said that the Al-Amin Islamic Banking window provides a complete range of Islamic banking services in strict compliance with Shariah principles. He also mentioned that necessary steps have been taken to further strengthen interest-free banking transactions based on profit-and-loss sharing with customers.
The programme was presided over by Md Touhidul Alam Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRBC Bank PLC. He said that Al-Amin Islamic Banking services are being offered through all branches and sub-branches of the bank and noted that deposits and investments under the Islamic banking window are increasing steadily.
Khan added that with the aim of building a just and equitable economic system, NRBC Bank has undertaken special initiatives to further expand and strengthen the activities of its Islamic banking window.
Al-Amin Islamic Banking was launched on January 20, 2020, to provide Islamic banking services to customers. Currently, NRBC Bank has 109 branches and 415 sub-branches, and Islamic banking services are available through all of them.
Among others, Muhammad Abdul Qaium Khan, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, and Abdul Gofur Raana, Head of the Al-Amin Islamic Banking Division, were also present at the event.
