Raqami Islamic Digital Bank Set to Commence Operations in February

Raqami Islamic Digital Bank is set to commence its operations in Pakistan in February, backed by an initial investment of one hundred million dollars.

The digital bank has been established with the support of the Kuwait Investment Authority, highlighting growing international confidence in Pakistan’s financial and digital banking sectors.

Advisor to the Finance Minister, Khurram Shehzad, said the investment reflects global trust in Pakistan’s improving economic conditions and the government’s ongoing structural reforms.

He added that investment cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait continues to strengthen, particularly in the areas of finance and the digital economy.

Khurram Shehzad said the launch of Raqami Islamic Digital Bank will play a significant role in accelerating Pakistan’s digital transformation and enhancing the stability of the country’s financial system.

He also noted that effective facilitation by the Special Investment Facilitation Council is helping pave the way for a modern, sustainable, and inclusive financial system in Pakistan.
