Hong Leong MSIG Takaful, Teladan Appoint New CEOs; Hassan Joins MAA Council

Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Bhd has appointed Borhanudin Samsudin as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective October 27, 2025.

Borhanudin brings with him nearly 30 years of experience across the telecommunications and takaful industries. Over the course of his career, he has served in key roles at Maxis Communications Bhd, VADS Bhd, Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd, Zurich Takaful Malaysia Bhd, and Great Eastern Takaful Bhd.

Before assuming his new role, Borhanudin was the Chief Distribution Officer at Great Eastern Takaful, where he oversaw the growth and development of the agency business and partnership distribution channels. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is certified as a Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance and Shariah RFP Affiliate.

Meanwhile, Teladan Group Bhd, a Melaka-based property developer with an expanding footprint across Peninsular Malaysia, has named Allan Ngu Kea Ping as its new CEO, effective November 1, 2025. The appointment marks part of Teladan’s strategy to build a more diversified property portfolio.

Ngu brings over 21 years of professional experience covering investment banking, property development, construction, trading of building materials, leisure and hospitality, and integrated poultry processing. He spent nine years in investment banking with Southern Investment Bank Bhd, Kuwait Finance House (Malaysia) Bhd, and RHB Investment Bank Bhd.

His career later expanded into property and investment, where he held senior positions such as Executive Director at Tropicana Corporation Bhd, Grand Hoover Bhd, and Setia Awan Group (Lagenda Properties Bhd). He also served as Head of Strategic Investments at Aikbee Group, and most recently as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Harumi Brands Sdn Bhd, a Perak-based integrated poultry processing firm.

Teladan Group Managing Director Richard Teo Lay Ban said the company will continue to expand its focus beyond residential and commercial projects to include industrial developments such as the Golden Valley Industrial Hub in Durian Tunggal and the German Technology Park in Ayer Keroh. He added that these initiatives reflect the group’s strategic intent to capitalize on Malaysia’s manufacturing growth and rising foreign investment inflows.

In a related development, Hassan Alsagoff, Regional Head of Loyalty and Marketing at Grab, has been appointed Vice President of the Malaysia Advertisers Association (MAA) as part of its leadership renewal for the 2025–2026 term.

Joining him on the new MAA council are Abdul Sani Abdul Murad, Group Chief Marketing Officer of RHB Bank Bhd, and Diana Boo, Chief Marketing Officer of Boost Holdings Sdn Bhd.
