KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd has launched Atlas, its next-generation Shariah-compliant digital banking platform, marking a major milestone in its journey to become a digital-first Islamic financial institution. The platform was unveiled under the theme “Your Journey to Better” at IOI Mall Putrajaya, where the bank introduced an immersive experience to demonstrate how Atlas enhances customer interaction with Islamic banking.
The launch event featured the Atlas Discovery Hub, an interactive showcase that allowed visitors to explore the platform’s features and capabilities. Attendees also participated in activities designed to promote financial literacy and improve overall user experience. To mark the occasion, customers who registered and activated an Atlas account with a minimum deposit were given the opportunity to enter a lucky draw offering a range of premium rewards.
Since its initial rollout, Atlas has gained strong traction, with a growing number of downloads and active users. This early adoption reflects increasing demand for accessible, digital-first Islamic banking solutions. The platform supports Malaysia’s push toward a digital economy by encouraging financial inclusion, promoting cashless transactions, and providing secure, Shariah-compliant financial services.
According to Bank Muamalat’s president and CEO, Datuk Khairul Kamarudin, Atlas represents a significant step forward in redefining Islamic banking for the modern era. He explained that the platform is more than just a digital banking application, as it integrates financial management with everyday lifestyle needs while remaining guided by the principle of Amanah, which emphasizes trust, transparency, and responsibility.
Atlas offers a fully Shariah-compliant savings solution, including a Savings Pouch feature with a profit rate of up to 2.25% per annum. As a digital-first platform, it eliminates the need for physical branch visits, allowing customers to open and manage their accounts anytime and anywhere. In addition to core banking services, Atlas also integrates lifestyle features tailored for Muslim users, such as prayer times, daily supplications, Al-Quran access, qiblat direction, and mosque locators.
Looking ahead, Bank Muamalat plans to expand Atlas by introducing financing and investment solutions, gradually transforming it into a comprehensive digital financial ecosystem. The platform also includes a Lifestyle Reward Points system, rewarding users for everyday banking activities and enhancing engagement. Additionally, customers can conveniently participate in the bank’s Save2Win campaign directly through the app, further reinforcing its focus on convenience, accessibility, and digital adoption.
