Manzil, a Toronto-based Islamic FinTech company, has launched a self-directed halal stock trading platform in the United States, allowing investors to buy and sell individual Shariah-compliant US-listed stocks directly through its mobile application. The launch marks a significant expansion of the company’s investment services and strengthens its presence in the North American Islamic finance market.
Previously, Manzil offered only managed investment portfolios to its US clients following its acquisition of Aghaz Investments. With the introduction of self-directed trading, investors now have greater flexibility and control over their portfolios while continuing to invest in accordance with Islamic principles.
Founded in 2017, Manzil aims to help Muslims in Canada and the United States build wealth through ethical and Shariah-compliant financial solutions. The company serves a growing segment of investors seeking alternatives to conventional financial services by avoiding investments in industries such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons, and interest-based financial activities.
According to Manzil Founder and CEO Mohamad Sawwaf, the new platform provides an all-in-one solution for halal investing by combining stock trading with integrated Shariah screening. Through its partnership with Zoya, investors can verify the Shariah compliance of eligible stocks within the same application, eliminating the need to use separate trading and screening platforms.
Manzil began its journey by offering halal home financing in Canada and has since expanded its range of Islamic financial products across Canada and the United States. The company initially launched its US investment services with managed accounts in partnership with Alpaca and has now broadened its offerings with a self-directed trading model.
The launch reflects the growing demand for digital Islamic financial services and highlights the continued expansion of the global Islamic FinTech industry. By offering a seamless, Shariah-compliant investment experience, Manzil aims to make halal investing more accessible to Muslim investors while supporting its broader international growth strategy.
